I left work the other day having what I thought was an emotional freak out and the onset of an ulcer, but what The doctor told me was acute gastritis and cardiac arrhythmia. Basically I'm bad at being an adult, and it stresses me out. They prescribed me prilosec, but there's no way in hell I'm taking pills whose ingredients include one chemical and a bunch of (ahem) systemically irritating fillers!!! Since my labs came back that I'm in perfect health, except for the stress, I opted to adjust my diet to soothe the accruing irritation in my stomach and begin taking heart supportive herbs and adaptogens. Basically, I have been adjusting the G.A.P.S. Diet for a vegetarian who follows virus suppressant dietary protocols anyway. I fully recognize that this is neither 1.a long term solution, nor 2. Nearly as effective as the proper application of the full G.A.P.S. Diet. However, the proof is in the vegetable broth with grass-fed butter and sauerkraut (pudding?), since my stomach is feeling better and after a trip to the sauna, so is my heart! After the sauna, I juiced some carrots and used the pulp to make veggie patties. G.A.P.S. Friendly Carrot Pancakes 1 cup carrot Juicer pulp 2 tablespoons of raw pumpkin seeds, food processed to a flour 2 eggs Coconut oil for frying Mix the first three ingredients and form them into little patties. Over medium-high heat fry, but don't burn! Eat with cultured sour cream and homemade apple butter.
