I have actually thought about a scenario like this before. In my main Timeskip AU fic, The Irrefutable Truth, it sets up a scenario where Jon was turned back into a human using technology from S.H.I.E.L.D. (Marvel).

If we we're to imagine that this story is essentially 'Spider-Man 1' the movie, then there was a sequel I thought about where Jon turning back into Spot might happen. Aka a 'Spider-Man 2'.

If I were to write it, it would parallel what happens in Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 2 where there is a villain after him and Johnathon while there is a subplot of Miles graduating from college. In this scenario, Miles started having issues with his powers so Jon tries to research what's going on. He also builds extra technology for Miles that adapts to his suit, when Miles' powers stop working. Later in the story, Jon is captured by the villain, and when Miles goes to rescue him his powers short out and he is told to surrender if he wants Jon back. Miles surrenders, and before the villain tries to ""defeat"" Miles once and for all, Jon breaks free and shoots a canister of dark matter, thus once again becoming The Spot. The story ends with Spot saving Miles, Miles regaining his powers, Spot choosing to stay as he is, and Miles graduating from college.
