I love this silly show so much!
Didn't see that coming (or did he?):
(As in the comic strip Thatababy, which here had The Funky Phantom pulling a cameo appearance.)
So I found out that we were cheated even more with the Scoob movie with a deleted opening where the funky phantom made an appearance! Why he was cut in a movie which was supposed to be an introduction to the extended Hanna barbers universe I don’t know…but the animatic of the deleted opening was so good I had to redraw my favorite shot from it where muddy spooks Scooby with a good old fashioned boo~! Everything is hand drawn except the background which is an old background image from the older Scooby doo episodes.
It also gave me an idea on how they can introduce the funky phantom to their extended universe with a rebooted origin based on how he acts in the deleted opening. Maybe he and boo act like typical mean trickster like ghosts until skip augie April and Elmo come to the haunted house fixing the grandfather clock and it turns them back into more of what they were like in the old show personality wise!

So I was watching old funky phantom episodes the other day and realized Mudsy “driving skills” reminded me of a scene from the hellbent music video and I just needed to draw both Mudsy and Boo in the Looney Duney with Arthur’s and mystery’s reactions from the video. I tried my best to draw boo and Mudsy in the art style as best I could as well~!
