QUARANZINE #81 QUARANZINE #81: Jonathan Canady. This issue, drawn by the Portland-based musician and artist Jonathan Canady, takes its influence from lyrics in a nearly 40 year old song by the band Corrosion of Conformity - "Positive Outlook", that he was listening to on repeat while making this. The song doesn't seem to speak to a specific situation but "Don't let them scare you no matter what", "Be calm, be brave" and of course "Never give in, never give up" might all be useful sentiments these days.

Jonathan Canady Artista e performer americano (Denver, Colorado), è attivo dall'inizio degli anni '90 nel mondo della musica sperimentale ed estrema underground. La sua incarnazione più conosciuta è Deathpile, progetto power electronics attivo fino al 2004. La serie di tele “My Dark Hunger” consiste in volti maschili in uno stato che potrebbe esser definito di sofferenza o piacere. Al tempo della loro creazione Jonathan è stato fortemente influenzato dalla lettura della biografia di Pasolini e ha usato “My Dark Hunger” come modalità per entrare in contatto col suo lavoro, esplorando le ossessioni e pulsioni più oscure dell'animo umano.
