Trainwreck: Woodstock ‘99
Finished watching Trainwreck: Woodstock ‘99. Nobody truly took responsibility for the stuff that went down. John Scher and Michael Lang brushed it off as a "few bad apples" and "assholes" in the crowd. That's fucking horseshit and they know/knew it. But they needed to try to save face. For Lang to say it didn't tarnish the Woodstock brand is a load of shit. Even Jonathan Davis of Korn knew how fucked up Woodstock ‘99 was. He wasn't going to downplay what happened. I respect him for that unlike Scher, Lang, or former Rome, New York mayor Joseph Griffo. Griffo thought it was great because it put the city Rome, NY on the map. Is this what you want your city to remembered for? Something that devolved into rioting, anarchy, destruction, assaults, rapes, profit, etc.? What a joke. To only give a few minutes at the end to the assaults and rapes of females (some underage) is atrocious and gross.
For the first ten years that the Meadowlands Arena was open we did 95% of the shows. The only two shows I can remember Ron [Delsener] getting in that time period were shows that I passed on because I wouldn't go along with the request from Madonna's manager, Freddy DeMann at the time, and Rod Stewart's agent, and I don't really know whether that came from the manager or not, but the agent was Jeff Franklin at ATI. And in both cases they wanted me to hold back, you know, 500 P1 seats and give 'em to them to scalp. I could take a lie detector test right now, I've never ever scalped a ticket to one of my own shows, ever, to this day. Now by the way, that makes me a schmuck. That makes me a schmuck because as best as I can tell--there might be one or two examples, but even the examples I thought I would give you now I'm not so sure of--everybody was fucking scalping tickets. And the managers knew it, couldn't stop it, there were all kinds of schemes you know, that people were running, so they said, "We might as well get into the scalping business."
John Scher, Metropolitan Entertainment
Y tanto.

Thoughts On Englishtown Without Research
Thoughts On Englishtown Without Research
Name is a lie.
The town is an American one.
Has been since 1776.
I mean, the town was only incorporated in 1888, but the parcel of land has been under control of American authorities since 1776.
Some rich drunkards wrote it down on fancy paper–All this shit is ours now, King George, you little bitch–and that was that.
And the name is a lie in a second way: the Dead’s Englishtown show did not take…

Who Rings That Bell
In addition to the food and drink and technical requirements, promoters were required to provide children to wander around the gig. The Dead’s preference was for around six kids and a toddler. The toddler should be completely naked and wandering around unsupervised.
After the show, the more scrupulous promoters would donate the kids they had left (a few always vanished) to local food pantries…
