He is just an accidental grandpa character. I mean that in the most loving way possible. His students are his kids! Nathan despite them having a falling out in the end was his kid. Allison became his kid. He became Kevin's grandfather. He did whatever he could to make sure Kevin was safe in season 2. Jenna too!

We know that the students at Tesla look up to Henry and Henry makes sure they get into good collages and make sure no matter what age they are they were heard.

Lucas was one of his students and he wrote a letter of recommendation to the collage he later goes to. He also wrote one for Zoe because Zoe is his basically granddaughter. He even went behind Jack's back when doing it.

It was a quiet Tuesday morning in Eureka with no strange explosions, deaths, bizarre animal behaviour or any of the other things that made Jack Carter’s life extremely interesting these days.

He didn’t believe for a second it was going to last.

But for the moment, Jack had peace to read the paper while Jo was browsing through one of her gun magazines.

They’d even managed to get through breakfast and coffee.

Jo’s computer beeped and they shared a look, but before she could check the computer, the door opened, and a man walked in. He was about the same height as Jack with short light brown hair and blue eyes behind glasses. He was dressed casually in jeans, a black t-shirt and brown leather jacket with a rucksack slung across one shoulder.

“Hi,” he smiled at them, “I was told I needed to check in with the Sheriff’s office.”
