@jimenezjim my little croissant, PAULINE! When I made my return to Tumblr after being away for a bit and started coming across blogs that were neck deep in 911 like I had been all by my lonesome, I was so happy to have found my way to her. It's been a fabulous two years and getting to know her outside of the confines of this site has been fantastic! She's such a good friend and always comes through with texts and pictures about her GORGEOUS dogs that I'm eager to meet just as badly as I am to meet her. I am determined to get to France soon just to make sure she isn't some elaborate figment on my imagination because people as cool as her surely cannot be real! Also need to take a moment to shoutout her great writing because WOW! Also, also she has the coolest taste in shows and music!

036. how do you come up with fic titles? what’s the one you’re most proud of? ohhh. yeah, nothing crazy inspired! i normally just go through songs and find lyrics that i think fit the mood of the fic. i think the best example of this practice is my fic so show me (family)—the title comes from the song ho hey by the lumineers, and it fits the vibe of the fic to a T, since it's all about buck and eddie realizing they've built a real family together and how it's contrasted against buck's relationship with his parents.

for an example of an outlier, when i was in college i wrote a gen spn fic titled hands split and bless on curving man. which like, kind of nonsensical but i love it anyway?? when i was studying abroad in london i live around bloomsbury and one weekend they were having a book festival in russell square park? and one of the features of the festival was this thing called a 'poetry tunnel'—there's this part of the path that's covered by like...a tree awning tunnel? i don't know how to describe it but here's a picture.

ANYWAY, at the start of the tunnel they had slips of papers with different words and you were encouraged to string together as many as you wanted and then to hang them from the top of the awning so that people would get to physically WALK through the poetry. and 'hands split and bless on curving man' was the one line poem that i created. a year later i wrote a fic that's all about the winchester's and their hands (john has the hands of a mechanic, mary the hands of a healer, sam the hands of an academic, and dean the hands of a hunter, etc etc). it fit so i put the two together :)
