Interesting and very cool trio of records I purchased together at Chicago's famed Jazz Record Mart in the early 2000s. The common denominator being Teddy Charles, an oft-overlooked vibraphonist capable of hip, floating, space-age solos. All three of these records happen to be Japanese pressings I bought sans obi which may explain the low price paid at the time. Who knows? Generally great late night music. Teo plays tenor on his record and is, in fact, the famous Teo Macero, producer of Miles Davis bookend classics Kind Of Blue and Bitches Brew. The guy also produced Dave Brubeck Quartet's Time Out and signed Monk and Mingus to Columbia. Nice resume. Dig it, jazzbo's!
