Vod'ika thoughts
Guys, I had the weirdest dream. So, some back story, when I'm sick I have star wars dreams. One when I had to be sedated, I got yelled at when I was waking up because I woke up fighting because I was dreaming about fighting sith.
Anyway, backstory over, in my dream the Jedi Council decided that they weren't preparing senior Palawan enough for the outside world. So they thought ans thought, and finally came to a decision. A week long seminar. Named "How to deal with Pirates and other minor inconveniences."
The class was basically the Jedi sending their senior Padawans to Hondo Ohnaka for a week and allowing them to practice their temple learned skill in a relatively safe environment.
Hondo was well paid for this class, so all of the padawans returned alive and mostly unharmed.
Look, FAR BE IT for me to complain, but I mean, I think I was a Padawan for all like - a WEEK before becoming a full fledged Jedi. FFS, my Sith Inquisitor is STILL answering to her master and I’ve traveled to like 5 freaking planets and am level 60!!
I couldn’t attach an image to the post, but it felt fitting. Dreen is a helpful dude.

Kallus knows your tricks, Ezra...
This Post about the SWtOR Jedi basically missing a generation to train Padawans got me all excited so I'm just- infodumping?
Anyway. Corrain is four years younger than Kira when she joins him to finish up her training as a Jedi, and GOD does that give him anxiety. He's freshly knighted just before he turns nineteen, meanwhile she's in her early twenties, he feels inadequate as heck to train her after her former Jedi Master was a Council Member AND she's taller than him by a whole two centimeters.
They end up talking it out eventually - Kira points out she's teaching him how to have a Padawan just as much as she's being taught - and then develop a fun sibling dynamic where they bash each other with pillows when they're being stupid. And Kira turns into a lifeline for him after Orgus, well, you know. ;w;
But like - ESPECIALLY in the context of SWtOR does this weird Younger Master-Older Padawan dynamic make sense, because the Jedi were taking in adult recruits at this point! There wasn't an age cutoff or anything. And so Kira joins the Order in her late teens, meanwhile Corrain was abandoned to the Jedi Order as an infant and was literally *raised* a Jedi. Corrain genuinely has more Jedi Experience than Kira, but WAY less Life Experience outside of the Order - so while he's the Jedi Knight, they're both actively learning from each other! (The Jedi Masters did this On Purpose for sure)
And like! They both know the above things, so Kira is okay being the Padawan still, she respects it and respects him. But she STILL is going to manage to tease the shit out of him when he's gawking at how chaotic Nar Shaddaa is. She helps him work through the loss of Orgus, he helps her let go of her past and become a Knight - they're a good non-traditional Master-Padawan pair and I love them for it.
