He notices how she’s nervously bouncing her foot, how her left hand is balled together so tightly on her knee that he can see the whites of her knuckles. Without thinking about it, he reaches over, gently laying his hand on top of hers. When her blue eyes find his, he freezes and he’s about to take his hand away again when she quietly says: „Thank you, Peter. You didn’t - you didn’t give up on me, even though you had every reason to. Even though I gave you every reason to.“ She grimaces, the far-away look in her eyes telling him that she’s deep in thought, probably reliving the same series of events he’s currently flashing through in his mind as well.

the Jean/Peter dynamic in BND intrigued me so much, I just had to write something for them ... I still haven’t made up my mind on whether I truly view them as a romantic ship or not, though the connection and chemistry between them is definitely there if you ask me 🤭
