Just found the long lost twin of the entirely fabulous Jolly Sailor Boy cafe in Jaywick Essex. It’s called Rose’s and has the same relaxed welcome with proper portions of beachtastic food and cold beer.

Jaywick Sands
I am worried that I have formed an obsession with Jaywick that will never end, as awful as it is, I find myself always drawn back. I fully intend to go and photograph there again this summer, I have only ever been there in winter and think/hope the contrast between the seasons will be a great one.Â
I took a roll of colour medium format last time I was there. I was still getting used to the camera and a few could be slightly more in focus, but I love the tone of the shots nevertheless.Â
Perhaps Jaywick can become a project similar to Sirrka-Liisa Kontinnen's photographs of Byker, I will continue to document this fascinating place over the years and see whether it changes for the better, or worse.Â
