The latest issue of the EC Comics/Oni Press anthology features my first new comics work in years. My script for the story "Red Blend" was illustrated by Lukas Ketner, colored by Francesco Segala with Sabrina del Grosso and lettered by Tyler Smith c/o Richard Starkings.

The main cover is by Ariel Olivetti (above). There are multiple variant covers including one by Lukas Ketner and an EC homage by Jay Stephens.

The Secret Saturdays

Created by Jay Stephens for Cartoon Network, The Secret Saturdays is an action/adventure animated series featuring a family of cryptozoologists known as the Saturdays.  This family, composed of Doc and Drew Saturday and their 11-year-old son, Zak, travel the globe seeking out cryptids.  The Saturdays are members of the Secret Scientists, a global organization with the goal of studying and safeguarding fields of science considered too dangerous to be revealed to the general public.

As the foremost experts in cryptids, the Saturdays are responsible for studying and protecting cryptids around the world, while also keeping their existence a secret from the rest of humanity so to avert cryptid-related threats. The Family is aided in their work by young Zak’s burgeoning psychic abilities that enables him to psychically connect to and communicate with cryptids. 

The Saturdays are opposed by various villains who seek to hurt cryptids or use them to gain powers.  Their greatest adversary is the mysterious V.V. Argost who seeks the Kur Stone, a Sumerian artifact that can lead its wielder to the location of Kur, an allegedly all-powerful cryptid.
