Big three boys triad where Nico struggles with his own emotions and tells Percy he loves him (not frequently but whenever Percy mentions it, he'll huff it back) but doesn't say it to Jason Bc he doesn't want to lie about it and they have a small discussion about the fact that Nico just physically cannot say the words if he doesn't believe them but swears up and down that he's on that pathway and Jason is totally fine with it bc love has always been extremely conditional and not freely given for him anyway and Percy bridges that gap by telling Jason he loves him all the time and Nico tries to do physical things, like hold his hand and quick kisses in public, so Jason knows he does care for him and the first time he does say it to him, it's flippant and quick as he leaves to go to bed with a little kiss on the top of Jason's head, muffled between good nights, and Jason ends up in Percy's lap, cry laughing because he's not gonna overwhelm Nico when he already struggles saying it in the first place but he's so happy and Percy's so happy for him and it becomes more and more frequent, always quiet and squished between other sentences, no eye contact, and it's just v clear to the two of them that where loving Percy was accidental and intense, loving Jason was thought out and purposeful, an embarassing admission of what Nico wants versus what he accidentally tripped into and thereby cannot be blamed for experiencing, and they're both so okay with that because being loved by Nico is a wonderful experience either way.
