Jonathan Byers for the win
I just LOVE Jonathan's arc this episode. He threw himself off to save Steve, sure. Took the initiative and led the charge up the tower. Check. Got heart eyes from his ex-not-ex while leading. Check. Had a heart to heart and formed my favorite fandom duo finally with Steve. Check. Was the only one to double back TWICE toward Nancy when she said that she would be bait. Check. Realized that he must let her go and do his best to save her from above. Check. The first to rain hell with that badass flamethrower. Check. Did probably-notprobably the most damage to the body of the flayer. Check. Had a genuine season 1 recreation moment with Nancy back in the truck. Check. Leaped after her when the military capture them. Check. I just LOVED IT.
Also, in the epilogue, I literally squealed when they showed him back with his camera, and talking about technical points of filming. Check. Finally getting out of Hawkins to NYC (his dream college) and making movies at the college scale. Check. Got Nancy to laugh several times. Check. Has budding bromances with Robin and Steve. Check. Has successfully got his ex to look into his eyes multiple times in the epilogue. Check. His step dad who is actually behaving as more of a parent for him at this point talking about how Will and him could board together at NYC before proposing. Check.
I just LOVE that they finally centralized him and his family while taking down Vecna, when joyce says that he messed with the wrong family. Like duh!! Anyways, loved his final kind of trying to make amends arc. Here's to Jancy endgame, which is nearly 999% done and dusted by this point, along with him finally having the budding friendships with Steve and Robin that I have wanted since s3. Again, loved it!!
