Hi. Thinking about denial ending.
Just imagine, in less than fifteen days the world ends, but then the immediate threat is gone and the world, though recoverable, is irreversibly changed. Not just by the fact that a significant portion of the population doesn't look human anymore, but in that there's now an ever-growing, planet-spanning mycelium who's also sapient and loves you.
What would a healed society even look like in a world like that. I imagine missing persons cases would become more rare, seeing as there's an omnipresent behemoth with eyes everywhere and a strong desire to keep everyone safe. Same for violent crimes, or people succumbing to the elements, and Sam wouldn't let someone starve when there's perfectly steal-able food that no one's eating. What are they gonna do? Lock him up?
Speaking of food, plants grow on Denial Sam's body. If the landscapes were damaged by the visitor, could people have used him as farmland? They already build houses on him, and he does take up a lot of space.
Or, what about earlier, when humanity's just getting back on its feet? Sam would be able to relay information from across the world. If you were away from home when the disaster struck and got trapped with no way of communicating with your loved ones, he could have been the earliest way of finding out what state your family and friends are in, maybe he'd even ferry messages. He can't talk anymore, but seems dextrous enough to hold a pen
plus with the variety of mutated forms people were thrust into, specialized mobility aids would be in high demand. In the early days after the apocalypse though, all you had would be the extended limb of your new protector supporting you as you move, or just straight up carrying you if you can't.
And that's not even mentioning Sam himself! He'll witness and experience more than any person has before. Every biome, every weather, every animal and every culture, simultaneously and for the rest of his days. He'll perpetually watch the sunset while at the same time never be able to experience one again. Hopefully he's a quick learner, because he'll need to communicate with people from all over the world speaking all sorts of language. He's "common as trees" now, people have Sam limbs decorating their backyards. He knows every single person personally. Knows what their laugh sounds like, their speech quirks, their favorite perfume, who's hiding a smoking problem and who's baking pancakes at 2am. He'll watch babies go from crawling to playing to graduating to their deathbeds. He'll welcome hundreds into the world at the same time as he bids farewell to the hundreds he watched grow and wither.
And Sam's very happy like this, but how do his friends, the ones that knew him before, feel about it? His family? We know he has siblings. Imagine trying to figure out what became of your relatives after the apocalypse and discovering your bum brother/uncle is now a giant tree helping the entire planet. What kind of relationship could you have with something like that, knowing that every interaction you have with him only occupies a miniscule fraction of his attention as the rest carries out thousands of tasks for more people than you could ever hope to know? How do you maintain a relationship when your friend/brother/crush/dad is no longer a person in the same way you are? At what point does grief start to creep in?
Silly aaa doodles that might not even be comprehensible-
So I've been cooking up a concept that's basically "What if different rogue AI-type characters were gods instead?" or something of the like. Basically, I take out the futuristic/sci-fi and turn it into fantasy. Simulations are more like dreams or illusions, electricity is magic instead, or it's wielded magically, idk. Cars are noble steeds, guns are probably magic too, maybe with crystals, since crystals are used for things in this, so why not magic guns?
If you couldn't tell, it leans towards medieval Europe vibes. Did you know there are knights? There are knights. One of them tried to eat everything once. It was very funny.
Idk, I'm still fleshing things out lol. I just think it's neat. Has anyone else done something like this? I don't think anyone has, but you never know.
I should probably mention that they all technically exist in the same universe too, just different planets? So either humans are everywhere, or I have to design separate species... yeah...
I'm calling it the "Renegade AU", or just "Renegade" right now, since that also technically means rogue, but is, like, cooler. Idk man, I just got here.
Anyway, here we have Aether(Skynet from Terminator), the Verdant Glutton(the Machine King from The Matrix), and the Lord of Puppets(the Entity/Rabbit's Foot from M:I). Plus an OC I made for the narrative, Cron, who's in baby jail because Aether basically kidnapped them, and is a time lord or smth. And there's a lil doodle of one of the T-something-or-others, I can't berember.
Feel free to ask questions about it, I never know where to start when introducing a story concept.
Start killing off the Eddsworld characters one by one
funny prompt here is how i would end them all

I was tagged by @corporatebanana â thank you so much <3
Iâm generally speaking a very slow little guy with too little time on my hands, so I donât have much Iâm working on, but hereâs a short list!
Buckâs POV of If You Still Care Donât Ever Let Me Know. Iâve been toying with a kitchen scene for weeks if not months, so that was already in planning, but I struggled with how to incorporate it into a story with more substance. I think Iâve found a good use for it now, and thatâs where weâre currently at. It might not seem related to its counterpart, but I promise that it will be.
âExerciseâ, which is the working title for a fic where the 118 is attending a mass casualty drill, set during Gerrardâs second reign and while Buck and Tommy are still going strong. I havenât written much yet, and itâs a slice of life more than anything, but I know the general direction of it and what I want to achieve with it.
Lastly, an honourable mention: my NaNoWriMo project in 2023, "Sea and Smoke", was a slight canon divergent of House of the Dragon S1 told from Rhaenysâs perspective and centred around her children. Iâd love to finish it one day â thirteen years of doing NaNoWriMo and this is without doubt my favourite and the one with the most potential.

last line tag game
I was tagged by @leashybebes and @rcmclachlan, thank you both so much! This sentence is very much taken out of context, but itâs part of Buckâs POV of this piece.
Rules: Post the last line you wrote, then take as many people are there are words.
Six weeks of something that neither of them can put a label on, six weeks of very much not official, six weeks and already hitting too rough bumps in the road, but Maddieâs acting like the time their parents let her go to Philadelphia to see Backstreet Boys.
I donât know enough people for all these words, and I think most of the people I follow have been tagged and/or have posted already, but just in case: @nosecrinklewrites, @dharmaavocado, @sad-girl-hours23, @beefcakekinard, @mugsywrites, @corporatebanana, @chemistry66 & @beanarie â and if I missed someone, please consider yourself tagged and let me know that you want to be included next time!
