im so glad i found your blog. im a trans man who has spent the last 10 years feeling like i have to preemptively apologize for my gender in order to be part of any conversation. itâs so nice to know that there are other trans people out there who see that this is messed up.
I'm so sorry that's been your experience and I hope that doesn't stay the case. I may not share your identity or exact experience, but I also know what it's like to be framed as an invader, to have to explain my life story to be seen as being "allowed" to be there. I know what it's been like at various points in my fluctuating gender (and sexuality) journey to make myself smaller and smaller to not be seen as threatening, and ultimately becoming a shell of myself for other people's comfort.
I know we are in a very isolating time right now, but I keep having conversations--publicly, in the notes of posts, in person, in dms--and lots of people are expressing sentiments like you and I are. We are not alone in this mess, and it's not just me who supports you.
I hope you can reach a place where you keep feeling pride in your identity and journey--the thing I want for every trans person. And I hope you keep finding people and spaces that encourage that and celebrate you.
Ten years! What a blessing to still be here. What an amazing piece of knowledge that for ten years you've been living your truth, probably causing little shifts in the world around you that lets other people live their truths too. I remember some of the first queer people I've ever seen. The first trans people. I remember some of the first queer couples I ever saw kiss. I remember early youtube transition timelines and looking things up and wondering "what does that mean? What's that word? You can do that?" I bet you've been encouraging people out there whether you know it or not.

What's one book you think everyone should read?
i know i say this all the time but detransition, baby by torey peters is SO GOOD. i know that it can be a bit controversial (as in, people either love it or hate it), and i would never say its the only or even most common trans experience. but i think it tells a really unique and harrowing story, and theres parts of it that can speak to everyone. plus, peters is just SUCH a brilliant writer, i found myself absolutely captivated like i was watching a car crash bhfjgbhfhjf i get that theres a heavy focus on trans issues, so people usually talk about those elements. but holy shit the actual Plot is so crazy. what if you could never have a baby, but your ex-girlfriend is going to have a baby with her his boss and wants to baby trap you with it

idk how much this counts because i have KINDA written BITS of it but as a therapy exercise ive been developing this Extremely Thinly Veiled Metaphor For My Childhood Trauma about a boy whose job it is to catch the sky whenever it falls (not a fic i know but uhhhh all of my current fic ideas are already in the wip stage lmao)

hmmmm. gonna sound insane but i genuinely did sit down and try to learn how ~ath (the made up fakey fake programming language from homestuck) works entirely so i could make a brief one-off joke in ccma be Theoretically Functional (one of the characters' bio for his blog is just a piece of code that deletes the reader's blog) and that was v interesting, sort of the digital version of a conlang? i BARELY know how 2 code but i understand enough of the structure involved to parse how ~ath functions broadly
24. how do you recharge when youâre not feeling creative?
i work in a creative field (dance teacher) so "not feeling creative" is not a luxury im permitted. so it more comes down to like whether i've gotta scrape together every ounce of creativity ive got to function at work or whether i have some to spare for fic. and like. as annoying as it is the easy answer is the best one i just gotta fill my cup. go to some dance workshops, read some good books/fics, switch mediums and make something completely different to shake it up, etc. i actually recommend that one really heavily for any creative block - if you've got writers block, maybe try something like knitting? like. a creative output that's SO different from what you're stuck with. it can do wonders for clearing out block. i'm pretty stuck writingwise atm because i have Dogshit Life Stuff going on so work is absorbing most of what i have, so ive switched to doing a bunch of pixel art until the writing starts flowing again & its fun doing something so different

2. Favorite thing about this ship?
I really like seemingly opposite personalities that go well together, and I think they really fit into that! Itâs an interesting twist on my usual ships in that regard, Iâm very much into the type of couple thatâs constantly arguing with each other XD But for Lug and Robin, I think they would just be kinda fascinated by the otherâs worldview and itâs sweet :3
13. What's something they like to do together?
Hmmm. They seem like the type to do errands together. Not even necessarily things that they both need to do, but one of them has to fuckin. I dunno. Whatâs a medieval errand. Go buy some flour for bread, and the other tags along because they just like being together

For both of them, an ideal free day is a day where nothing happens. It just passes by, and thereâs no upsets, thereâs no drama, they just spend the time together and let themselves relax. Maybe they go on a walk, or something simple like that, but nothing thatâs too exciting. Their lives are exciting enough as is, they like the opportunity to take a load off
