Well, you see, when I had an about section, I would always say not to try and comfort me if I’m using this blog to vent. I’ll say the same shit in my tags, right next to “delete later.” Because I’m venting on my personal blog and impersonal input from strangers annoys me. Like…if you don’t know me personally, it’s not your place to say whether or not I’m loved, it’ll be okay, etc. at the time of the post, because you don’t actually know if that’s true. They’re words meant to make someone, anyone, feel better whether or not they yield any meaning (they usually don’t).

So if someone says to me “you’re a bright shining rainbow” or “you are the universe and you’re loved” or “take a deep breath, it’ll be okay,” I don’t exactly appreciate it. Well intentioned or not, it’s impersonal, condescending, and overdone. If you can cut and paste it to literally anyone, I don’t want it in my inbox. And in a bad state of mind, I have significantly less patience for it. I’m not gonna pretend to feel better when I don’t so some stranger can pat themselves on the back.

   my girl-thing did exactly this to me yesterday the minute i saw her. no real complaints. pretty girls touching hair > having killer hair. which is really saying something, isnt it?

There’s a lot of The Police but a) I adore The Police, b) Sherlock is the right age to have listened to them when he was an angry, scrawny bean and I think the punk/reggae/rock/synth/’why do you keep changing rhythms’ sound of the group would have appealed to him, so there. I tried to think of gentler classical pieces but ended up with these. So, all in all, more of his enthusiastic/manic side.
