今日は四回目のギター教室でした。今までは、アルペジオというテクニックを勉強しておりました。和音分解といって、コードを1音づつ奏でる奏法です。良くフォークソングなどでポロンポロンやってるあれです。僕は最終的にはラグタイムや、ブルースをちゃんと弾いてみたいので、フィンガーピッキングが出来ないと話にならないのです。そして今までは、面倒で、逃げて、ごまかしてなんとなくやり過ごしてきたんです。しかし、もう逃げるのはやめると決めて、一念発起して5月から大好きなミュージシャンの方にギターを教えて頂ける事になったのです。 初めてから、1ヶ月間、いつもよりも、しっかりギターに密着していたおかげで、今まで出来なかったフィンガーピッキングも、だんだん弾ける様になってきました。厳密にはまだ全然弾けてないんですけどね。リズムキープ、そして、コードをちゃんと押さえること、そして右手のフィンガーピッキング、どれをとってもまだまだ修業が必要です。しかし、一ヶ月前とは比べものにならないくらい、色んな事を知りましたし、少しですけれど、フィンガーピッキングも出来る様にもなってきました。 僕の大切なこのGibsonJ-45というギターを弾くに値するプレイヤーにならなくては。ギターを弾くのがここ最近本当に楽しいですね。僕の手の中から、こんな綺麗な音が出るのかと、テクニックを教えてくださった先生と、素晴らしい音を奏でるGibsonのギターに感謝感謝です。 先週から、練習曲を一曲増やして、少し難しい課題も増えました。はじめは全然何も出来なくて、全くダメなんですけど、2週間やってるとすこしづつ弾ける様になってくるのが何とも嬉しいし、楽しい。今週は、待ちに待ったブルースのテクニックを教えて頂きましたし、習得出来るのがとても待ち遠しい。練習しっかりやらないと、いつまでも弾けないんですけどね（笑） 今回はブルースのイントロの部分や、エンディングの部分のもっともブルースらしいメロディやリズムを教えてくれた。頂きました。弾けたらかっこいいぞこれは。 さぁ、頑張ろう。

If I were to be a bluegrass musician, this would be my first choice in a guitar. Martins have never done it for me.

The Black Lillies were victims of a massive gear theft on Jan 25th in Houston TX. The list of gear is massive, and I’ll repost below. The indication is they were targeted by professional thieves, so anyone heading through Houston or thereabouts should be wary and protect their gear. Their van was stolen with trailer and later ditched without. Likely they will try to move it quickly. Keep an eye out and check the usual on-line market places.
