The Izhmash Saiga-12 versus the Israeli Galil. As the page says, the shooting distance between these 2 is 60 meters, the chances of hitting your target at such a distance with a shotgun is really low since shotgun ammo was mostly designed to result in a spread. As the load from a shell goes further & further down range, it spreads more, most of the time missing the target. The only other shotgun load capable of traveling in a straighter line towards your target are Slugs, a slug is one solid projectile, having a better chance at hitting something at a farther distance. The Saiga-12 here uses Buckshot (or Birdshot), a spreadable load consisting of BBs, so she has no chance at hitting Galil, a rifle, who does have greater chances of hitting a target at a far distance & uses ammunition designed to send out one solid projectile in a straight line with the help of rifling in the barrel, in other words, sniping capabilities with good marksmanship

Since Rifle Dynamics had the Bulgarian AK74 front sight bases on sale for only $35.00 on Memorial Day I decided to order one to finally install on my Saiga 5.45. I also swapped out the smooth top cover for a surplus Bulgarian ribbed one. The stock is one of the cheap polymer fixed triangle ones - if I ever find a metal fixed triangle one I'll replace it with that. And please excuse the poor wrap job on the tourniquet/bandage. Ironically I still haven't installed the bullet guide - rather than do the drill/tap method like I did on my Saiga .223 I'm going to see if my buddy can help me either rivet or weld it in.
