The AK is the most reliable tool to possibly ever be needed in the best or worst case scenario.

@mou1age had a spare PSA dong and cheese grater handguard set that I wanted to try out on my AK

I wasn't a fan of the super sterile factory clear coat on the wood (see first pic), so I sanded it off, restained the wood with iodine, and sealed everything with amber shellac

The color's much better, but unfortunately, the shellac has a bit of a wrinkly finish to it; probably should have thinned it in hindsight, but oh well

I'm half-tempted to try buffing it out, but I might also just leave it be and let it wear in with normal use.

Also debating on getting a different buffer tube adapter since this one puts the stock a smidge too high to comfortably use the irons.
