Montreal, such a lovely city. I could not get over how many friends we have there now from over the years. The show was with albatros, black love, and animal faces. The house enforced a capacity. I smuggled in a very special beer for max of tdoaf and his beer friends. They brought some amazing craft beer in return.
Our group stumbled out for poutine super late, and two of us dropped our poutine before finishing it.
In the morning we found a note from a neighbor, that I think is complaining really politely about the volume but compliments the music.
Quebec City was definitely the most anticipated stop on the trip. We've journeyed to Montreal a few times but this was a little further into French Canada. We stopped at Chute Montmorency, a waterfall nearby, and got to climb to the top. There is a breathtaking bridge above it so you can look over the falls!
We cooked hotdogs with the engine while we drove using tinfoil.
James stopped and got acupuncture in town.
We played with Albatros and tdoafs at Salle' Unisson. We immediately fell in love with Albatros, a screamo/blackmetal outfit with a full brass section that you must check out. It was great to catch up with tdoaf as well. We all hung out drinking beers together for a while, just laughing at the language barrier. I found comfort in not knowing what the fuck anyone was saying, and things started feeling like a real vacation.
I got to take the bike for a ride in the morning. I found the best spot in town for espresso and the featured bean was intelligensia. So much for being exotic. I took the regular. I tried ordering a double but ordered two singles...no complaints, no complaints at all.
Triple post for CT, Boston, and Manchester. This has been so much fun we’re getting a little behind.
We played nick cages in CT with sorority noise and youth funeral. Made banana boats in a bonfire and stayed up late playing magic cards and getting to know cam and nick.
Boston was with lovechild, my fictions and mountain man. We bought a bike in Boston. The hotelier was supposed to play, but they didn’t, but people thought they were, so the show was very well attended. Zach’s amp caught on fire for a sec, but it was cool. Best boston show in a looooong time.
Manchester was our last show with youth funeral. Lovechild and chalk li played super tight. Finally got to swim a bit and scored some legit New England seafood. We hit up a late night diner after the show with youth funeral for bittersweet goodbyes.
Border crossing time, wish us luck.
Philly day 5. Stayed at Big Mama’s and got to catch up with all of our friends there. Made a big breakfast and bought them toilet paper. Walked around the city looking for a hacky sack, checked out record stores instead. Whenskeisaregrey opened and were really good, lots more bass and volume than I remember. Youth funeral and Capacities slayed. I got locked outside for bleach bath but it sounded super tight and i’ll be buying stuff from them soon. Kev hopped in the van for late night mischief. So good to see everyone.

Detroit: May14th 2014. Tried our best to explore some abandoned buildings, Barbed wire sucks, at the very least there was lots of street art to enjoy. Daniel Ryan from Lansing hopped in the van the night before to hang for a few days. Played at the rockery downriver of Detroit. Justin was very kind as usual and the grilled cheese's were on point. 2194 was really good.Threw some trees with yahtzee dice. the last band had a trashcan drum ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Vegas baby! we drove overnight and met up with an old friend of Jeremy’s from middle school, Rory, who turned out to be real cool. Met her at 5 in the morning and got a couple of pitchers at (ironically) a place called Chicago. Passed out for a while and then hit the strip. Dumb shit. Rory then took us to Old Vegas which was much cooler and…. more profitable. Neil won some Texas Hold Em and Jeremy and Rory came back and won back money they had lost plus some. Pulled up to the show and there were a bunch of fireworks going. We played outside next to a pool with Alaska and Oranges. Really rad night. We collectively weigh 871lb
