They will call it being vain because they donāt know
how hard it is for someĀ people to really love themselves
But deciding to love myself,Ā
flaws and all has been the most liberatingĀ
thing I have ever done.
Iāve arrived at aĀ point where I am unlearning everythingĀ
that society has always told me I shouldĀ be which Iām not meant to be. It has freedĀ me from being a victim of waiting onĀ others to love me first, to notice the lightĀ that shines within.
I am giving me back toĀ myself.
I am realising my own magic.
I am smiling back to the girl inĀ the mirror and I am realising thatĀ
happiness looks good on her too.
And I amĀ at this point in my life now where I amĀ
wondering how have I managed to depriveĀ her of self love for so long?
And I have neverĀ felt nothing more liberating than this.
TheĀ ability to acknowledge and embody myĀ whole truth and not feel compelled byĀ societyās expectations to change anything.
IĀ am content within my own skin and IāmĀ telling you, it hasnāt always been like this.Ā
It took a long journey of self-discovery toĀ accept myself for all that I am.
