“Oh boy...” Miu removed the thermometer from Tsumugi’s mouth, looking at the numbers that flashed across the screen. “That is one high fever.” she commented.

“How—“ Tsumugi coughed. “How high is it?” she asked.

“38.9 Celsius.” Miu set the thermometer down on the nightstand. “Damn, how’d you even wind up with such a high fever, anyway?” she asked.

“Oh, that...” Tsumugi played a little with her hair. “I washed my hair and forgot to dry it before I went to bed last night...” she trailed off.

“So, you’re like this now because of some wet hair?” Miu snorted. “Man, you’re dumber than I thought you’d be.” she stated.

Tsumugi sighed.

“I guess you’re right...” she trailed off.

“Oi, you’re not supposed to be agreeing with me, Plain Jane.” Miu snapped.

Miu looked at the sorry state Tsumugi was in before sighing.

“Well, it’s official: you’re sick AF. Until you get better, you aren’t going anywhere.” she said.

“Huh?!” Tsumugi stared at Miu. “I can’t be sick, I have too much to do!” she exclaimed.

“What, like running your clothing shop? No way in hell.” Miu stated.

“But—“

“No buts, Plain Jane! You aren’t going to the shop like that and that’s final!”

Tsumugi sighed, dropping down onto her bed.

“Oh, what do I do? The shop’s not supposed to be closed today...” she trailed off.

Miu watched her fret over what to do about the shop before sighing, crossing her arms over her chest.

“Look, I’ll open it up and watch over it for you.” she said.

“You will?” Tsumugi asked.

“Yeah, I’ll do it. It’s not like I have anything better to do today, anyway.” Miu replied with a shrug of her shoulders.

“Miu...” Tsumugi’s eyes filled with tears. “Ah, thank you so much!” she exclaimed as she leapt into her arms, hugging her tightly.

“Ack!” Miu nearly staggered backwards onto the floor. “Bitch, are you crazy?! You’re gonna get me sick if you cling to me like that!” she snapped.

“Buuuuuut...you’re such a nice friend...” Tsumugi trailed off.

“W-Well, of course I am! I mean, even though I call you names, we’re still childhood friends.” Miu stated.

Tsumugi giggled, smiling widely at her. Miu bit down on her bottom lip, her cheeks turning a rosy red.

“N-Now that that’s settled, get in your bed!” Miu declared as she pushed Tsumugi into her bed.

“Huh? But, I need to at least give you the key and help you open up the sto—“ Miu cut her off.

“I can find the key just fine! Now, all you need to worry about is getting some rest and getting better! If you try and move from that bed, I’m gonna tie you to it!” she threatened.

Tsumugi’s cheeks grew redder and Miu had a hard time figuring out whether it was her fever getting worse or something else. She brushed it off as she took out her phone.

“Aaaaagh, now I gotta call for backup...” she grumbled as she dialed a number and brought the phone to her ear.

“Oi, you good for nothing twink! I’m gonna need your help with something.” she said.

She turned as she continued speaking.

“Huh?! You had plans for the day?! Well, ya better cancel them! We have a shop to look after. Yes, I do mean Plain Jane’s clothing shop, so hurry it the hell up and bring your sorry ass over here!” she shouted as she stormed out of the room and closed the door behind her.

Tsumugi looked over at the closed door, smiling to herself as her eyes slowly closed and she drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Kokichi released a loud sigh as he slumped over the cashier counter.

“There goes my dream date with my beloved...” he murmured.

“Oh, cut it out. It’s not like you can’t go on another date with Cuckhara. Besides, the two of you live together.” Miu pointed out.

“Yeah, but still...” Kokichi trailed off.

Miu sighed, twirling some hair around her finger.

“So? How’s she doing?” she asked.

“I think she’s looking a little better. After I gave her porridge and some water, she fell asleep.” Kokichi explained.

“Well, at least she’s staying in bed rather than moving around.” Miu said as the bell jingled, signaling that someone had stepped into the shop.

Kokichi released another sigh as he spoke.

“Welcome in—“ his eyes sparkled upon seeing who walked through the door. “Shuichi!” he exclaimed.

“Hey.” Shuichi replied, waving with a shy smile on his face.

“I thought you were going out for coffee with Momota-chan?”

“I was, but I decided that visiting you would be better.”

“Aw, how sweet!”

Kokichi came out from behind the counter and he walked over to Shuichi.

“You’re such a flatterer.” Kokichi commented.

“I’m just stating the truth, you know.” Shuichi said.

“Ah, if there’s one thing you know how to do well, it’s sweeping me off my feet!” Kokichi gushed as he pulled Shuichi into a hug.

Miu looked at the scene, her eyebrow twitching.

“Ugh, you gross, sappy homos! Get a room already!” she shouted.

“You’re just jealous because you aren’t getting any!” Kokichi shot back.

“Geh!” Miu’s cheeks flushed pink. “Stuff a sock in it, you annoying little abortion!” she snapped.

Kokichi stuck his tongue out and blew a raspberry at her as she looked over at the door that led upstairs to Tsumugi’s apartment.

“I’m gonna go check on her.” she said.

“Huh?! But, I just went and tended to her!” Kokichi complained.

“I wanna see for myself that she’s fine!” she looked over at Shuichi. “And you! Watch the store with him while I go and check up on Mugi!” she shouted.

“Huh?! Me too?!” Shuichi exclaimed.

“Well, duuuuuuuuuh, dipshit! And you two better watch over it good! If I come back and see you two banging, I’ll throw both you horny fucks out!” she threatened before swinging the door open and marching upstairs, the door slamming shut behind her.

She stepped into the living room and headed over to Tsumugi’s room. Poking her head inside, she saw that Tsumugi was fast asleep.

Oh, she’s asleep, she thought to herself.

“Well, she looks fine to me.” Miu muttered under her breath as she stepped into the room.

She made her way over to Tsumugi and quickly checked her temperature, silently noting that her fever had begun to go down. Sighing, she watched as Tsumugi slept.

“Ugh, goddammit...” she quickly leaned in and pecked her on the forehead. “Hurry up and get better already, dumb Mugi...” she grumbled, the growing blush on her cheeks deepening.
