Carol has told Rhodey A Hundred Times that he doesn't need to call her Captain, but he enjoys it far too much and falls for her even more each time he uses it and sees her mouth quirk in satisfaction
-listen Carol has earned that title and also she loves it
-she says rhodey doesn’t need to, but he does all the time
-like if they’re in a professional environment he exclusively uses “Captain” as her designation
(this has caused confusion with Steve, who is set straight because Rhodey says “Steve, if I ever--and I mean ever--refer to you as Captain, that means I’m about to die.”
listen tony shouldn’t laugh as much as he does but it’s kinda funny)
-rhodey really likes the way her mouth quirks up when she’s called Captain, mainly because a lot of the time they just use “Danvers” or something similar
-tony calls her all the nicknames he can churn out in ten minutes
-so it’s kind of nice to have a consistent reminder of her title and her ranking, mainly because it means she’s on the same level as Rhodey and that’s a Very Blunt Reminder to everyone

Stony! Where Tony has glasses and Steve has a secret love for Tony.
Tony was leaning over his desk, pen in hand. The pen made soft scratching noises as Tony wrote, drawing out some sort of diagram in a sketchy hand and then labeling the parts. He hummed under his breath and squinted a few times. Sighing, he reached over into the desk drawer and pulled out a black box. It was a glasses case.
He pulled out a pair of dark rimmed glasses and slipped them on. Then he continued drawing.
Little did he know that he was being watched. From behind a thick door frame, Captain America’s eyes were on the frustrated engineer. Now, Steve had been dealing with his attraction to Tony Stark for some time. This one, however, was too much.
Why were a pair of glasses so freaking attractive?
Steve watched, as Tony bit on the end of his pen, a snarl of frustration escaping him. He inhaled sharply, surprised at how attractive that frustration was. Damn Tony. Damn every bit of the man.
Tony looked up at the sound.
“Who’s there?” he asked.
Not wanting Tony to mistake him for an intruder, Steve stepped into the room. “Uh, hey,” he said awkwardly. “Didn’t mean to bother you.”
“Oh, um, not bothering me at all,” Tony said. “I was just confused about this prototype, so I was trying to sketch something out so that I could…you know, figure it out.”
“That’s good,” Steve said, rubbing at his head. “I didn’t know you wore glasses, Tony.”
The other man blushed at that, a redness that flooded his face.
“I guess it’s one of those things that just happens when you get older,” he teased warmly. “You can save the world, but you can’t save your eyes from going to shit.”
Steve stammered on his next words, unsure of what he was to say to Tony then. “I…I see,” he said with a swallow. “I really like them.”
“Do you now?” Tony asked, tilting his glasses forward. “That’s a strange thing to say, Cap.”
“No, it’s not,” Steve said defensively, in spite of the fact that he had no reason at all to be defensive. “I’m merely saying that the look is a good one.”
Tony raised an eyebrow. “Sounds like someone’s got the hots for me,” he said with a low, suggestive hum. “Is that true, good Captain?”
“Tony, don’t…”
Tony’s eyes lit up. “Oh Captain Rogers, do we have a kink here?” Tony asked, sliding his pad aside and looking at Steve with sudden realization. “Or do you just like me? Oh my god, Captain America likes me…”
“It’s not like that…” Steve managed and then turned bright red. He had a very difficult time lying and Tony knew it. Here the bastard was, exploiting his weakness. “Tony…”
A smile crossed Tony’s face and he laughed, warmly. “I like you too, Cap,” he said. “I have for a really long time.”
“Really?”
“Nah, I’m clearly lying,” Tony joked. “Actually, it was Parker who suggested the idea to me that you might feel the same.”
“Feel the same?” Steve managed. “What does that mean?”
“I like you too, Steve.” Tony’s face broke into one of the cutest smiles that Steve had ever seen in his life. “I always thought that was kind of obvious.”
“No, not obvious…” Steve said. “Unless I’m the most oblivious person ever…”
“You are,” Tony said. He then leaned over and kissed Steve slowly, his glasses pressing to Steve’s face. “But so am I, Cap, so am I.”

Adventures in being way too emotional over things I ship
Okay so last night I was in the car with Courtney and we were talking about how hard we ship IronCaptain and listening to Fun., when all of a sudden 'The Gambler' comes on shuffle
So Courtney had this GENIUS idea to make every love song about Tony and Steve because it would be real super cute
And so we sat in the car with our eyes closed, happily making a montage in our heads of all the cute things the song was talking about and how perfectly it worked for Steve and Tony
And then the one part where the wife dies happened
And then I grossly sobbed
And then I pictured Steve yelling and struggling with security as the doctors took Tony away
And then I pictured Steve throwing things and yelling "IT'S NOT FAIR, YOU'VE NEVER GIVEN UP IN ALL YOUR LIFE"
And then I cried hysterically and only Courtney understood why
So we cried together while the driver of the car silently wanted to run away while calling us gay
