Work is never just work, especially not around here The Ineffable Professionals Bang is officially moving into its collaborative phase! Today on the IPB discord server we revealed the Artist/Writer Matches, and to celebrate we're also unveiling something very exciting: a brand new IPBang banner created by our wonderfully chaotic side-quest artists team, led by @anixfelix and powered by a great deal of creative mischief.

The banner was built across multiple styles and hands, with each piece reflecting a different interpretation of Good Omens characters and the many, many ways they might exist in professional worlds: lawyers, pilots, doctors, diplomats, architects... and probably a few occupations the IPB Roulette Wheel invented out of spite. 😆

We often see Good Omens characters in familiar fan-favorite roles: bookshop owner, librarian, florist, artist... and we love those.

But what happens when the wheel spins differently?

The Ineffable Professionals Bang is a Roulette Bang, designed to shake things up a bit and send the characters to work in places they might not usually go.

From surgeons and architects to pilots, diplomats, researchers... maybe even investment bankers.

This bang is all about our favourite Good Omens characters in professional roles…  shaped by training, responsibility, the drive for success, and the systems they operate within.

The possibilities are endless! Think:

For the Roulette, writers will be randomly assigned three professions to choose from (you only need to use one!).

This Bang isn't limited to human AU or modern-day settings - If you want to write canon/adjacent stories and rare pairs, bringing different professions into play (in present day, or through the ages) then that’s great!

The Ineffable Professionals Bang (IPB) is a Good Omens Roulette Bang for writers and artists run on the IPB Discord Server. We want to showcase Aziraphale and Crowley (or rare GO pairings, romantic or platonic) in professional settings - what if they were lawyers, doctors, architects, pilots, diplomats?

The Challenge

Writers! if you sign up you will be assigned three professions at random using a roulette wheel. You will be tasked with writing a fic where at least one of your main protagonists is at least one of the three professions. Fics can be canon, AU, any rating, any era, rare pairs etc. Minimum word count 1k - get creative and make it work for you! Artists! if you sign up will be able to choose your favourite three fic summaries anonymously, and then get paired up with one of these to collab with the writer and create an art between April and September. Any creative art medium, any style, NSFW is fine (in conversation with your Writer), minimum one piece!

Eligibility •This is an 18+ Bang. •All participants will be using the IPB Discord server for announcements and check-ins.

Timeline •Writers sign-up: until 13th March •Artists sign-up: until 18th April •Collaboration period: April-September with check-ins during the summer •Posting: works will be posted in September; participants will select a preferred posting week to help stagger releases.

The writers over at the Ineffable Professionals Bang discord server have been having far too much fun spinning the Roulette Wheel to get three professions assigned to them as fic prompts. So we've decided to get the artists in on it - we'll be spinning the wheel of doom again, this time to randomly allocate Good Omens Easter eggs for artists to hide in their Ineffable Professionals art--for example, Crowley's fez hat, Aziraphale's teacup, an apple or an eccles cake.
