Sixteen year-old Park Ji-hoo witnessed a family murder in Seoul Metro subway. Police later asked if he saw what happened. Fearing for his life, he decided to keep quiet and forget everything he saw that night. Twelve years later, an anonymous novelist hiding in the pen name Wu publishes his mystery-crime novel titled The Witness. The novel contains a detailed description of how and why a family of three was murdered. Ji-hoo, now a troublemaker detective, finds himself reminiscing and reinvestigating the crime scene from twelve years ago in order to save his life once again.
