Now, we do feel better about ourselves when we look nice. Part of our self-esteem may come from our appearance, but it’s pretty superficial kind of self-esteem.
Image is talked about in the Bible, too --- but it is not the image of fashion. It’s the image of God. We are all created in the image of no less than the eternal God Himself. In Genesis, the very first book in the Bible, we read that God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness...” So God created man in His own image... male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:26,27)
Being made in God’s image means that our bodies are valuable, but not for what they look like.
God is concerned with the condition of our hearts, not our physical features. Although we may never fit in society’s image, we are made in His image.
