A lot of self-proclaimed atheist leftists really seem to believe in the doctrine of total depravity, only they've replaced "original sin" with "born a white American." And then they spend every day hating themselves and wanting to die about it.

I said this on Reddit in response to the whole "internet leftists don't do anything irl and just post online" (y'know, why aren't they firebombing a Walmart??) , but it deserves to be said again here: If you spend more time yelling at people who aren't comfortable voting for Biden and calling anyone left of you a tankie rather than organizing unions, aid groups, protests and boycotts, then *you* are the problem, *you* are the person talking on the internet acting like you have the high ground.

a good chunk of internet leftism is just puritanical bullshit masquerading as woke and progressive which has thus developed into callout/cancel culture and respectability politics, encouraging a narrow, black and white worldview while discouraging critical thinking, creating insignificant and performative activism, and prioritizing discourse and public image over meaningful praxis

The way some leftists out there talk about religion, it's pretty clear they're a few YouTube videos away from believing in the Great Replacement. Like all it would take is somebody reframing it from a leftist POV and they'd eat it right up.
