Right now, we are designing three kitchens and a bar area. I'm super busy with our sketch up artist and our graphic designer pulling together all the elements. First and foremost, I draw the architecture of the space. The windows are most important. How the space feels with the environment is my first step. This shot from an LA shoot came to mind. // Then I start drawing the cabinetry into the space. I'm not a big believer in upper cabinets so two of the spaces will be without. I love open creative spaces - those that I'd like to experience. I'm usually drawing and building my client's dreams with an eye on modernity. // What we are seeing out there right now are a mix of metals and stone. We are seeing a surge in cane furnishings and glass accents. Cream and beige tones are back as well as fluted details. The trick with trends is to keep the visual story subtle and not focus too much on trends.
