In 1983 photographer Deborah Turbeville cast her gauzy gaze over the freshly minted New York apartment of her friend Paul Walter. An inveterate collector with wide ranging and, often, idiosyncratic caprices, Walter just moved into his new East River apartment, which he had collaborated on with architectural designer Mark Kaminski and interior designer Mark Hampton, whose sole role was to accommodate and curate Walter's ever-expanding collections.
