About the characters as I see ‘em

Tua is a shouty and annoying imperial minister, a petty bureaucrat who thinks she’s nice and cultured and tries to behave like a confident woman of importance, but gives an overall impression of a high-strung pomeranian dog. Anger rather than fear is her first reaction to danger, as long as she believes she’s in the right and protected by her position. Turns nervous and desperate when in real trouble.

Grand Inquisitor is the nameless Pau’an Jedi-turned-Imperial. Cold-mannered and decisive, cruel/dark sense of humour, not a particularly pleasant individual to have around due to the morbid nature of his work. Secretly a book-reading nerd.

About the ship

A bit of a crackship really, I liked the villains of season 1 of Rebels and enjoyed the episodes where these two appeared. There’s a lovely sort of contrast to the paper-pushing type of villain like Tua against the mysticism of Darksiders hunting down Jedi. All of that epic lightsaber drama vs are-you-paying-ypur taxes kind of stuff, a real disdainful culture shock I’d imagine for both of them.

Oddly specific stuff I’d like to see exist

(No particular nudging towards actually picking any of these topics, but they might serve as an idea jump point or a general sense of what I ‘imagine’ when I think of the pairing).

survivor AU where they both avoid their canonical deaths or somehow meet and have to travel together incognito

imperial middle management shenanigans, with petty imperial conflicts and the banal side of the evil Galactic Empire; perhaps someone arrives who prompts the two to work alongside on something of mutual benefit etc.

Any kind of situation where they have to re-evaluate their behaviour or show some level of softness to the other.

okay so first things first: Empire State University. That is all

Tarkin’s the Dean/principal probably

Tua has signed up for more courses than anybody in her class and intends to pass every single one

Tua is such an intelligent student with so much potential and a bright future ahead of her. Her endgame is to achieve a position in politics in order to help her hometown (Lothal)

She’s also being considered for an internship at a prestigious company known for making cybernetic enhancements and it’s groundbreaking medical achievements (they’ve also figured out how to transfer A.I’s into droid bodies)

However, having so much responsibility dropped onto her shoulders has worn her patience thin and has caused her to lash out at inopportune moments

Aresko and Grint are usually the victims of her rage

They’re used to it by now

The Inquisitor is a different story

The Inquisitor ( literally this guy has no name they actually just register him as John Doe in his college records ) was essentially raised by a gang (which was probably named the Inquisition heyo ) and lived on the streets his whole life

He was never properly educated as he never once attended any type of schooling. (he did have a habit of stealing literature of all kinds, though, and could explain the concept of parallel universes without missing a beat. he’s smart/self taught is what i’m trying to get at here )

The University ended up funding a special program that gave the less fortunate/underprivileged a chance to apply for a scholarship that would pay for all of their room/board needs and schooling, no matter which major they went into, as long as they passed a written test administered by the university.

Of course the Inquisitor passes it with flying colors and ends up going to the University ( cue fifth and seventh sniffling while waving their big bro off to school)

The Inquisitor finds this type of education to be unnecessary and irrelevant and has initiated many debates between professors and himself because of this opinion ( civil debates of course)

Tua ends up sitting next to him in Biology

She finds him abhorrent and stereotypes him a delinquent

He finds her obnoxious and stereotypes her as a shallow rich girl

They both end up getting paired together in order to do an experiment/finals project (do they still pair people up in college to do assignments?? idk i only went for one semester lmao)

????? they grow closer i guess ( haven’t really thought out how they get together in this au)

Tua actually initiates the relationship

Aresko and Grint totally saw it coming and now Kallus owes them $20

Inquisitor becomes very fond of her company and often finds himself unconsciously seeking her out

This is very strange for him (he’s never warmed up to strangers so quickly before)

Tua does that annoying couples thing where she draws little hearts on his arm in class and the Inquisitor finds it oddly endearing ( but also just a tad irritating)

Inquisitor is really tall so sometimes Tua has to grab his collar and pull him down to her level in order to kiss him

He also finds this a tad irritating (but does not object to it)

Inquisitor ends up bringing Tua home (home being a ratty apartment) and introduces her to his family (basically just fifth and seventh)

fifth and seventh are convinced that she’s trying to steal their big brother away from them

cue fifth and seventh doing that really awkward protective sister/brother thing where they interrogate tua and try to find out what she’s really after

fifth and seventh still don’t trust her but they do allow her to continue dating their big brother

fifth and seventh eventually warm up to her and end up telling maketh stories about how when they were young and frail and how the Inquisitor had to look after and provide for them

inquisitor denies the stories being true

it’s totally true and tua knows it

The Inquisitor actually has an hearing impairment and wears an outdated version of hearing aids

Tua eventually gets him to apply for cochlear implants ( the company she’s interning at allows this to happen)

He’s content with the new implants
