“Minhyuk-ie,” you cooed, taking your youngest child out of his bed, as his sisters stood expectantly at the door.
“Minhyuk! Santa’s been!” Minji exclaimed.
“It’s Christmas!” Miyeon giggled with excitement.
“I don’t know what they’re so excited for,” Moonsun sighed to her dad, “Santa’s not real, anyway.”
Donghyuck’s eyes widened as a laugh escaped his lips, this being the first time he’d heard his little girl admit of her non-belief.
“I can’t believe you did that to Santa,” Donghyuck shook his head, “he ate our mince pies and drank our milk and you—”
Moonsun giggled, sensing her dad’s joking tone, “I’m still excited, though, Dad.”
Donghyuck smiled, looking from his eldest daughter, now surprisingly grown up, to his youngest son, sucking his thumb as he slept on his mum’s shoulder.
“You can’t tell your siblings, you know that right?” Donghyuck asked, looking at Moonsun sternly.
But Moonsun just hummed, too interested in getting her mother’s attention.
“Can we open our presents now?!” she exclaimed.
Minhyuk seemed to perk up at that, looking at his sisters.
Moonsun nodded with a big smile, “yeah! Santa’s been, Hyuck!”
With a big smile, Donghyuck patted Moonsun’s head.
“Why don’t you come with me and we’ll see what he’s brought, little man?” Donghyuck offered, cooing as you handed him over.
“Santa’s been?!” Minhyuk yawned, sitting up in his dad’s arms.
“He sure has!” Donghyuck smiled, kissing the side of his head, “my little boy.”
“No! I’m big boy,” Minhyuk protested.
“Sorry, sorry,” Donghyuck nodded solemnly, “of course.”
