This might help to get an overview of the humaniterian crisis in sudan
Medical providers: "Arrive to our office no less than 20 mins before your scheduled appointment..." Medical providers: "You must cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 48 hours in advance or the copay will apply." Medical providers: "Log into your telehealth session at least 30 mins in advance to ensure your technology works..." Medical providers: "If you are greater than 10 minutes late to your appointment time with our staff, your place will be forfeited and you'll be charged the full cost of the office visit."
Also medical providers: "LOL enjoy waiting 45 mins to 2 hours after your scheduled appointment time until we actually see you. Sorry not sorry we hold all the power here and if you want our care, you'll be at our every whim and delay. We know the value of time just not YOUR TIME. If you have a job or other life circumstances that prevent you being able to set aside 3 hours for routine care, guess you just won't get routine care. This is Amurikkka, this is how we do it."
There's only one week left to experience Lorraine O’Grady: Both/And, the first retrospective of one of the most significant contemporary figures working in performance, conceptual, and feminist art. Through video, photomontage, concrete poetry, cultural criticism, and public art, O’Grady has long examined the ways Blackness has always existed at the heart of Western modernism. The artist’s radical revisionism of the 1980s and 1990s anticipated contemporary art world conversations about racism, sexism, institutional inequities, and cultural oversights by decades, and has inspired a younger generation of artists and thinkers to resist and reshape a world structured by difference and inequity. See it before it closes on July 18th.
It does not make sense to close schools while allowing other higher-risk indoor venues to stay open. School closures should be a last resort to control community transmission. Schools should be considered as "essential services" for children and young people. Beyond formal education, they provide friendships, meals, social support, and therapists for children with disabilities. Lost learning from school closures can be considerable. While catch-up learning can occur, students from disadvantaged backgrounds can continue to lag behind, exacerbating existing inequities, with potentially life-long occupational impacts.
