      Watching the other, Anna allows only the faintest hint of a frown to disrupt carefully painted composure, considering. It’d be an uphill battle, reshaping stories, parrying blows---- and he wasn’t doing much to help. Straightening in her chair, she finally speaks. 

 “D’you have a job--- a pet? Someone is going to miss you in the next twenty-four hours; it’s best to notify them.” 

     Anything to boost the image of a respectable man, a functioning member of society. 

Which is why he had been called in to deal with some minor incursion. A hand come up to rub his temples and adjust his glasses, while the other was clutched around a coffee that was quite blatantly an Irish one. He supposed it was the downside to living quite close to the HQ he'd be called in first even at ridiculous hours in the blasted morning.

There were files on the table that he'd already glanced over and now he was just waiting for whoever else they'd decided to call in for this. He was the first here so he supposed he'd be doing the brief.

“Good mornin’“ He grumbled, when he heard the door, but he didn’t bother to look up, merely keeping his nose in the file so he could drink his coffee.

“Jenna Ann, you put that table down now. You don’t need to lift it just to retrieve a pen,” Mary scolded as she walked out of the common area, not even looking over her shoulder.

Some of the kids were convinced she was actually a mutant like them and just hiding it, but she was just a mom at her core, and a hunter. Being dead 24 years didn’t change her ability to know when someone wasn’t following the rules.

Rounding the corner to the front entry, she took in the older man who looked severely out of place among the dozen or so teens and pre-teens currently hanging around this afternoon. She didn’t get adults around at all, and it was enough to have her guard up.

It might have only been a couple months since her release from SHIELD and the opening of this center, but she was attached to the kids she was able to help.

This was amusing. The Commander simply watched him for a few moments, trying to note if his inebriated state had any effect on his shifting. Satisfied it did not, she simply tilted her head, “Please remind me, is this due to Terran alcohol, or is this the product of some alien contraband? Because if it’s Asgardian, I have to confiscate it … for myself.”

The commander tilted her head, arm outstretched. She held the gun on the table, posture relaxed, but brows furrowed.
