Her breath clouds in the night air, a small coil of vapor that proves she is – in fact – alive. Still.

Even as the snow around her shows a trail of red speckles, blood dripping from her tac suit. It would be so easy to just… stop here. The lake is frozen over, the uneven surface almost glitters in the moonlight. It seems beautiful. Quiet. A good place to just… sleep.

But she still breathes. And the cloud drifts ahead of her, towards the evac point.
