So I love the Nosferatu homage shot in New Nightmare. What I also wonder is whether the scene in Scream, where Casey Becker reaches up and pulls off the Ghostface mask, if that’s composed that way as a reference to the shot of Fred’s face pulling off in NOES.
And because I’m a nerd for homages and the threads of influence between movies on a meta level
I really, really, really want to know
If the shot of the alien jumpsuit-monster’s feet coming down on the floor of the lab in Independence Day is the way it is because of an extremely similar shot of backwards-canted feet from a Japanese scifi effects film called Zeiram
Because it’s the sort of film the ID4 effects guys would have been into, and it was around before that so they could have seen it.
