another week, another set of images that idk how to be normal about
DishpirationÂ
For the last long weekend of the summer, we’ve declared a moratorium on chores of any kind—especially doing dishes. (Labour Day=no labour.) Fear not: we won’t be so uncouth as to eat out of our hands (although we aren’t ones to pass up a tray of finger foods crudités). Instead, as evidenced by our current moodboard, we’ll be feasting from fruit shells as we bid farewell to Summer Sixteen.

PS: As you’re likely aware, we’ve stood on strike against dirty dishes before, protesting with watermelon, papaya, and muskmelon smoothie bowls—each would be a labour-free way to satiate long weekend hunger.Â
Pinterest Roundup: Melissa
Here’s to roundup number 2! Melissa is, to be honest, one of my favorite characters. I’ve found myself putting more of me into her than the others.
It’s interesting to watch that. Putting yourself, as the writer, into characters, makes them so much more real. You can sympathise, ask yourself questions, have your characters do things you always wanted to but never could. I know details about them…

Pinterest Roundup: Annemarie
I thought I might share some of my favorite images of the characters- our Characters board on Pinterest has grown to over one hundred eighty pins. We’ll see how it works, I guess!
Annemarie is an interesting character. She’s pretty easygoing, but when stress builds up, it really takes a toll on her. She is Melissa’s cousin and Brandon’s girlfriend.
In this picture, she’s probably fifteen,…

The Great Outdoors
This long weekend has us itching for a retreat en plein air, as evidenced by our current collection of awe-inspiring nature images. Our daydreams lately have been filled with lakefront A-Frames, rustic cabins, scenic yurts, and dense forests of fir. If you’re bound for the cottage, cabin, or campground this Civic Holiday, lucky you. We’ll try to keep from turning green. Unlike Thoreau, perhaps you are unable to head for the woods. Our metropolitan, pseudo-Walden solution: for an out of doors experience, light a balsam candle and scroll vicariously though a foliage-filled mood board. As Thoreau said, “We need the tonic of wildness.” Ah, nature.Â

The Secret Garden
For our fellow gardeners and blossom-loving buds (and especially in honour of our upcoming store opening on Queen West with our botanical besties Crown Flora Studio), we present a look at our current mood board in the hopes that it will get your green thumbs twitching. From full English roses to waxy cacti, our latest daydreams have been overgrown with lush greenery. You could say we’ve got plants on the brain—and we can’t wait to share what we’ve got growing. Â

Library Love
There is something romantic about a library—the overflowing stacks of obscure volumes, the rich smell of leather-bound tomes, and the tranquil silence broken only by the whisper of turning pages. Admittedly, these romantic charms can be lost to the reality of a library during exam season—the cramped cubicle that offers no view of the outside world, the panic inciting index cards stained with stale coffee, and the fellow students whose loud conversation has no place on the quiet floor.
For our scholarly friends (or fellow bookworms), we present you with this image roundup of our favourite libraries in the hopes that it rekindles that romantic flame. Like your favourite librarians, we have carefully curated a collection that will please scholars of both classic and modern taste, from Thomas Fisher Rare Library in Toronto to The City Library in Stuttgart.
