im only a couple chapters into yesteryear but im so frustrated that this lady isnt real because i'd 100000% be lurking on her snark subreddit if she was. i want to read it so badly
Although speaking of, a couple of things Iāve read recently have put Roadhog in the position of being a truly dubious person and I think I havenāt pointed that out in my own writing well enough. Or perhaps havenāt even properly explored it at all- but Iāve thought it if thatās worth anything.
Iāve said before I think he knows heās not a good person (or at least thatās how he thinks of himself) and therefor continues to do things he knows are bad because he canāt be worse than he already is, and why even try being better? Heās already intrinsically evil, born that way, right? Whatās the point in being gentle or indulging whatever shards of empathy are left inside him.
I think when I say āthatās how he thinks of himselfā it almost removes blame a bit. I want to clarify, that to me, Roadhog is not a good person. And itās especially his lack of effort or even desire to improve that really puts a nail in that already-buried coffin. So itās all the more vital when he does show empathy and when he is gentle and caring, because he is all of these things, deep downā¦ despite it all. Somewhere buried under all the muscle and fat and dirt and the rank, is a truly kind person. Someone who cares far too much about everything for his own good. Under the mask, maybe. Easier to pretend youāve outgrown emotion when nobody can see the expressions you make when youāre mad, or happy, or godforbid scared.
