Today I woke up feeling very ill, all fluey and achey and groggy. Poor M had come all the way down to visit me last night and spend the day together and there I was unable to get out of bed. To be fair, he wasn't very well either.

Then I got a message from Dash, offering to come and cook us breakfast and bring us goodies. He showed up on the doorstep and almost immediately started cooking (after a brief three person cuddle) and he wouldn't let me help or join in at all and kept telling me to go back to bed.

The three of us ate together and snuggled for a few hours, including watching a movie and drinking a ton of apple juice. I have had a thoroughly overwhelming day in both lovely ways and less ideal ones - flu like symptoms, slow and groggy and achey body, tension with my parent, and the unspeakable happiness of being around both Dash and M at the same time, who are quickly becoming close friends.

There are things in the world that will wound you greatly. There are things that will bring you great wrath, or will plunge you into the depths of despair. You will feel envious or prideful. You will be afflicted by sloth or gluttony. Agony and horror. The world is not a kind place. There is much cruelty and wickedness. You will suffer.

However...imagine a world where none of those things existed. Things always went as well as they possibly could. No one loses. No one is in pain. No one ever feels bad or horrible. No one is ever jealous of anyone else. No one is angry. No one will feel joy. No one will feel wonder. No one will know what it is to experience laughter again for the first time after a long period of sorrow. Or what it means to have peace when there was never any war to show how precious their peacetime is. Or to lose a loved one and to one day realize that you no longer sorrow for them, for you are left only with your love in the end.
