Good morning! I’ve got that Monday morning feeling today; got quite bad pain and I’m pretty breathless, but more importantly I’ve also got not one, but TWO hospital appointments today, and another on Wednesday and Friday! Today I have neurological physio followed by patch testing with dermatology. Patch testing is where they basically try to cause a controlled, localised allergic reaction on an area of skin they can they biopsy. I’ll be at UHW having these tests today, Wednesday and Friday, and depending how things go, maybe another day too 🙈. I am not impressed my guys! My mum is worried the allergic reaction won’t just be local; I’m more worried because I won’t be able to get the area of skin they’re testing wet, so won’t be able to have a shower all week 😮! This may seem like a silly concern, but please remember I have OCD and PTSD of which a lot of my medical trauma is related to hygiene (because germs can literally kill me) and not being able to shower when I’m ill... dermatology actually wanted to do this test a couple years ago but my palliative care and psychology teams knew I wouldn’t be able to deal with no showers... honestly feeling pretty proud of myself for doing this 💪🏻! Anyways, I’m DOING THIS 💪🏻!
