Charlie smiles ruefully, his eyes still closed. “You should see me on my off days,” he replies.
They sit there for a few moments, Farkle keeping them invisible and Charlie keeping them, well, in the clear.
“keep going” - i’ll write the next couple of sentences and share them!
Eventually, the door opens again, the footsteps on the stairs having been much quieter this time. Dave looks at his clone counterpart with seemingly detached interest, walking around him in a long circle, his wheelie backpack rolling on the floor behind him. “Huh,” he says, reaching out to wave in front of the image’s face. Fake Dave does nothing, just continues to flutter about the clothes, his hands idle when unable to touch solid objects. “I didn’t really know I looked like this.”
