not only is "god" an insanely hard term to define, but a lot of people use it to mean multiple, sometimes mutually exclusive things, about the same entity
The correct answer to the question"do you believe in God?" is "define 'God'".

*Agnostic, because as someone once said when correcting me for the same mistake, it's not about igneous rocks. Also you cut your hair and I love it. The end.
Oh no I really did mean ignostic though! It's also a word. It's kind of a shorter way to say theological noncognitivism. As in, I'm not sure how to even define god, and therefore don't feel I can have an opinion on such a thing's existence. (Which is a little related to agnosticism, but not quite the same thing. And definitely neither is about igneous rocks, because I do have an opinion on igneous rocks, which is that they exist and they are awesome. They are literally solid magma, how metal is that.) Btw I did not know until just now that it was coined by Sherwin Wine! What a great man. We have his papers at one of the archives I work at and I'm so mad I haven't poked at them yet.
Thank you about the hair! I also love it, though I haven't had bangs since I was a wee child and they are unpredictable!! I don't know how to guarantee they will blow dry in a pleasing manner, so every morning it's a surprise.

Random thing, Apparently there's a thing called "Ignosticism"
Based on what I read on Wiki, I think I hafta say I guess I count as an Ignostic Agnostic Atheist. With varying degrees of agnosticism to my atheism depending on how one defines God. xD
Some useful theological terms. Found this on Tumblr. How cool.
Atheism - Rejection of belief in any G-d. The belief that G-d does not exist.
Theism - The belief that at least one G-d exists.
Agnosticism - Belief that the existence of any G-d is unknown and probably unknowable.
Apatheism/Pragmatic Atheism - Apathy, disregard, or lack of interest in belief of the existence of G-d.
Ignosticism/Igtheism - Belief that the question “does God exist?” is meaningless without first asking “what is meant by ‘God’?”. Concerned with the definition of God rather than the existence of G-d.
Deism - Belief that reason and observation of the natural world are sufficient evidence for the existence of G-d. Rejecting any need for revelation, miracles and religious authority.
Transtheism - Belief that G-ds exist but that they are not the highest spiritual power.
Pantheism - Belief that G-d is the universe and the universe is G-d.
Panentheism - Belief that the universe is a part of G-d, but that G-d is more than just the universe. That G-d encompasses the universes, but also extends beyond it.
Monotheism - Belief that there is only one single G-d. May or may not believe in multiple aspects of G-d.
Polytheism - Belief in multiple deities, usually assembled into a pantheon of G-ds.
Henotheism - Belief in the existence or possible existence of multiple G-ds, whilst only worshipping one G-d.
Kathenotheism - Belief in multiple G-ds. Worships one G-d at a time. or believes that one G-d in turn is supreme over the others.
Monolatrism/Monolatry - Recognition of the existence of multiple G-ds, but belief that only one G-d is actually worthy of worship.
Animism - The belief that natural entities such as animals and plants, or inanimate objects or physical phenomena posess a spiritual essence.
Idolatry - Worship of an object or an image, which may or may not represent a G-d.
Aniconism - rejecting the use of any image or representation of a deity.
An atheist would say, 'I don't believe God exists'; an agnostic would say, 'I don't know whether or not God exists'; an ignostic would say, 'I don't know what you mean when you say, "God exists" '; and an apatheist would say, 'I don't know why you ask the question'
