The provincial capital of Fermo, in the Marche region, rests atop the summit of a hill, overlooking the Tenna River and providing a breathtaking view of the countryside. The antiquity of the city is perhaps its most striking feature; remains of cyclopean walls, ancient architectural sites, and an intricate system of 30 well-preserved Roman cisterns all contribute to the historical richness of Fermo. All in all, its rich ancient heritage, beautiful architecture and landscape make Fermo a very attractive tourist destination, especially for those tourists who prefer to travel off the beaten path. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: Take a Regional train from Ancona or Pescara to Porto San Giorgio–Fermo station. There are bus services to Fermo every 20 minutes weekdays though less frequent on Sundays and festive breaks. Bus tickets can be purchased on the 'TrasFer' app or at a tobacconist. ______________________________________ #Fermo #Ig_Fermo #IgersFermo #VolgoMarche #Marche #MarcheTourism #Italia #Italy #BellaItalia #Italia_Da_Scoprire #Ig_Italia_BorghieCitta #ThePrettyCities #Italy_Illife #Rg_Wywh #LonelyPlanetItalia #TravelPhotography #Travel_Europe #Italia_In_Foto #IgersItalia #BellezzedItalia #HuntGramItaly #HuffPostGram #PromozioneDelTerritorio #Italia_Shotz #Splendid_Shotz #TravelItaly #TravelAndLeisure #CnTraveller #LensCulture #ItalianPlaces (at Fermo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWSk4AcotFC/?utm_medium=tumblr
