A person trying really hard to keep their contagious cold to themselves, but also trying to not let anyone else know they’re sick, not wanting to admit their weakness. They cover their face and stifle to keep their secret, and instead of carrying around tissues they resort to using their sweater collar and sleeves to blow their nose and sneeze into, reasoning that no one was going to get close enough to their clothes for it to matter if they were covered in contagious snot.
After a particularly bad heat flash from their fever, they take off their sweater and leave it on their chair as they go to the bathroom, but when they come back they see that their friend had taken it off the chair and put it on, as it wasn’t unusual for them to share clothes and they were chronically cold. The sickie now has to grapple with their two choices: let them keep wearing the sweater and doom them to this horrid cold or tell them to take it off and reveal that they’re sick, betraying their facade of strength.

A group of people huddled together in a tent or around a campfire. They are cold and damp, but in good spirits - until one of them suddenly sneezes, specks of the sudden sneeze dancing in the center of the circle of friends.
They all share a look, but the sneezes insists it was nothing, only the dusty air.
Then, one by one, the members of the group succumb to the fierce cold that set up shop in the first person's nose.
Since all of them are strong, stubborn individuals, none of them admits to having caught the illness until it is glaringly obvious as they are shivering from fever, nose bright red and dripping incessantly, thus they only accelerate the spreading of the disease by going about their day as normal.
Until finally, all of them are bundled up in blankets around their fire, a sneezy, sniffly round of feverish, red-nosed people, trying to get through the awful headcold they caught.

Okay so we all love the idea of someone who wears glasses sneezing and having the glasses slip down thier nose a little bit. However I think there is potential in a different but related scenario:
Imagine someone else with a cold sneezing on the person with glasses instead.
Usually the concept of a cold virus is formed in the minds eye, but not to our glasses wearer in this moment.
The spray of the sneeze forms a mist of dropletts on the lenses. They can practically see the virus within the little rivulets sliding down the glass. (Or perhaps something a little more opaque if that's your preference.)
They know thier inevitable cold is staring them directly in the eye, taunting them.
The best our friend can do is remove the residue by rubbing the lenses on the bottom of thier shirt and wipe thier face with the back of thier hand - but they know it's too late. The virus is already inside them, seeking out the right cells to latch onto and start the process of making our nearsigted friend a congested, feverish, and sneezy mess.
Let's just hope thier glasses don't slip too much when they start sneezing.
