Books books books
Thank you for the tag, @idlewildly :D
1) The last book you read: The Path of Daggers by Robert Jordan, which is the 8th book in the Wheel of Time series. Slooooowly making my way through the whole thing so I can finally get to know the ending
2) A book you recommend: The Mask of Mirrors by M.A. Carrick, please read this one and the whole series it's one of the best newer fantasy stories I've read!! Lots of diversity that's actually well handled and integral to the themes and characters, a plot that kept me turning pages in anticipations, excitement, horror and triumph. The prose is high quality without being too convoluted and the characters are so strong, I definitely got a new blorbo from this.
3) A book that you couldnât put down: The Caphenon by Fletcher DeLancey, or well the entire Chronicles of Alsea tbh. One of the best written series I've ever read that immediately became one of my absolute favourites. The biggest and best cast of female characters I've ever seen too!
4) A book that youâve read twice or more: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, what can I say I love a good tragedy written in gorgeous prose
5) A book on your TBR: The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula LeGuin, I've wanted to read this one for a while!!
6) A book youâve put down: Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Joseph White, it has trans and neurodivergent characters and probably some other good representation too, but I just made it about a third in. It was just too dark and violent and I'm not very into post apocalyptic stories in general, it just wasn't my thing
7) A book on your wishlist: A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers, the first book was fantastic so I really wanna continue the series, I seem to have found the flavour of sci fi that I really enjoy
8) A favourite book from childhood: The Shamer's Daughter by Lene KaaberbĂžl, both this series and her other series in the same universe are so good! I still regularly reread them
9) A book you would give to a friend: Aside from most of the ones I've already mentioned, This Fatal Kiss by Alicia Jasinska. It's just a very easy and nice read with good characters that is steeped in slavic folklore, it was so refreshing to read a YA fantasy that wasn't based on western folklore and had all the creatures I recognise from fairy tales growing up
10) A book of poetry or lyrics that you own: Here Be Monsters by Jay Hulme, illustrated by Sahar Haghgoo. It's a small book containing one long illustrated poem, I think anyone from a minority would love and resonate with this beautiful poem
11) A nonfiction book that you have: Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe, a graphic novel memoir that I found very relatable, it's just a very real depiction of being a young queer person and being confused and searching for identity and all the struggles that come with it, I wish I could have read something like this when I was a kid
12) What are you currently reading: Book 9 in the Wheel of Time, Winter's Heart
13) What are you planning on reading next: Probably The Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb, I read it several years ago but never continued the series, so I wanna read it all now!
Tagging @gayrogue @deadgirlrising @themonstercals and whoever else feels like it ^^
Trick or treat! Rhymes with pick a beat!
you bet it does!
Met this lovely lady in my kitchen this summer. (Note that she could fly just fine; the wings arenât scrunchy like that from recent eclosure.) Wingspan around 4.5 centimetres; location Stockholm, Sweden.
Very pretty little friend! Looks like a lillac beauty, which is a type of geometer moth, and the wing shape is definitely normal :)
Opinion on Skink?
I used to haaaaaaaaate it, I still think the spots tend to look awkward/bad/cheap/like a sales bin toy but the eyeliner? The gradient on neck? *chef kiss*Â
I rate this gene 5/10Â

Your Good Omens art is fantastic and so is your username and I INSTANTLY imagined the two put together. Crowley-the-smol-snake wrapped around a cupcake and shaking it? Or curled up on top of it, pretending to be frosting and vibrating with glee/anticipation of someone (Aziraphale probably) to try and take a bite? The mental images are endless! :D
Aw, thank you so much!
I just made this username because I like snakes and I had to combine some random words to create something that wasnât already being used. But now that you mention it, itâs rather coincidental that the main character of my newest fandom would also be a snake X)
Also, I used the word âshakeâ to refer to the milk beverage, so you could also have Crowley eating a cupcake and a milkshake!
straight up stulade
