"you want something to drink? you can put it on my tab," says ric to someone who has to be one of dick's family members. they all look at him the same way -- with the same yearning, the same desire. they all want him to be someone he's not, someone who died, blood smeared on the pavement, gunshot wound to the temple. mr. pennyworth hid it with a smile and sympathy; barbara didn't hide it at all -- contempt plain as day to ric even though she tried to hide it. ric's wondering where this kid's going to fall, whether or not ric's going to be able to see the grief in his eyes. time will tell, he guesses.
he has no idea if this kid is underaged or not, but, honestly, considering his possible night job, ric didn't think a drink was going to kill him.
