fun times at the Emerald Grove
featuring Mayhew, my gnome Tav who was a hit with the tiefling kids (perhaps because they don't have to look up to him heheheh)
I learned this run that the kids will SPRINT ACROSS THE GROVE to admire your bird familiar if you summon it there, which was cuter than words could describe
Imagine the awkwardness between Ide and Matsuda constantly having to listen to Light and Takada's noises........
Matsuda is at his limit 👇

I decided to make adult designs and "where are they now" stories for all the child tieflings who are confirmed to survive to Act 3.
Unbeknownst to her, Arabella was a latent sorcerer with a natural connection to the Weave. Her powers likely would've manifested at puberty, but touching the idol of Silvanus imbued her with wild druid magic, multiclassing her prematurely. This caused an internal struggle between the two powers, which threatened to rip her and anyone around her apart. Fortunately, with Withers' guidance, she set out to follow the Weave and found balance in her new, strange abilities. For years she traveled Faerûn alone, honing her skills and making peace with her past. Eventually, she became known as the "Wondering Storm", so attuned to nature some would mistake her for Silvanus' Chosen. Those who crossed her, however, would swear she was Jergal's Chosen; able to end a life with a single stare. Though not unkind, Arabella became feared by many for her stoic personality, mysterious presence, and peculiar command of the Weave. It seemed that wherever she was needed, she would inexplicably be.

I’M HERE TO TRY ADOPTING IDE! I LOVE THIS LITTLE GOOBER AND HOPE THAT I GET HIM. This is the art and below is the written part. It’s how Moon and Ide meet :)
“The Turtles are coming, we have to get rid of the evidence.”
Ide is suddenly yanked from his cage and thrust out the open window nearby. He lands in a pile of hay, pops his head out as soon as he gets his bearings. He jumps out of the hay and runs as fast as he can. Sliding on the slick ground he ends up slamming into the legs of someone. The someone picks him up and he tries to get away, squirming. He twists until he spots an uncovered spot on their arm, and chomps down.
The hands drop him and he searches for an escape. Big barriers start appearing around them and the Yokai that had him a minute ago screams. He runs in the only direction that doesn’t have a barrier, sliding on the wet ground but still managing to avoid them as they appear, but barely.
The building that was there before Moon blinked is gone, instead replaced by a small room with one hallway to her right.
“Moon?” Mikey’s voice rings out in the small room.
Moon starts turning, searching for the boys that were next to her just moments ago. The walls are closer than they were before and she can still hear the echo of Mikey’s voice calling her name. The wall to her left starts moving toward her so she starts running down the hall, shouting their names as she runs. She doesn’t hear anyone anymore.
“Mikey?” she shouts, her voice cracking at the end as she slows down due to the ground being wet.
Everything’s completely silent, she can’t even hear her breaths. Something comes running at her, something small and fast. She steadies herself and it slides right between her legs. She turns her head to look and it’s skidded to a stop. It creeps back over and curls around her ankle, shaking so hard it’s practically vibrating. The ground starts shaking, water splashing as the sound of heavy footsteps reaches her. She puts the creature on her shoulder, ignoring the wet feet on her shoulder, before unholstering her weapon. The ground shaking gets harder, the footsteps louder as she readies her aim toward the corner the attacker has to come from.
The creature curls around her neck but has luckily stopped shaking so hard. The thing making all the noise, comes around the corner slowly. The closest thing Moon can point to that it reminds her of is a gorilla. If gorillas were techno-color and bigger than a house. The thing opens it’s mouth and fire comes out. Moon rolls to the side and starts firing at it.
The first few don’t seem to do more than anger it, but she spots a small glowing spot. She dodges the next attack and fires directly at that spot. That does the trick, and it starts screeching. After a few seconds, it drops to the ground, almost sending her sideways with the ground shaking. There’s a small hissing sound and Moon starts looking around. The techno-rilla pops into a million colorful pixels.
Pixels?
The scene suddenly fades away and she’s standing in the middle of the road.
Where the hell am I?
Footsteps catch her attention, so she turns. A Yokai is jogging over as the creature around her neck shifts. She takes the creature in her arms and starts stroking it’s head.
“Ah, I see you found Ide,” they say, motioning toward the creature in Moon’s arms.
“Oh, is it yours?” Moon asks.
“In a way, I rescued him from the garbage. I was on my way back to Witch Town when this happened. I’m not particularly attached to him, so you’re free to keep him if you wish to use him.”
“Use him?”
The Yokai makes a face as their hands go to their hips. “You humans are odd, coming down here with no knowledge on what transpires.”
“Says you, who stumbled your way into a restricted area and got yourself trapped in a mystery maze,” Moon snaps, holding Ide against her chest. “And I will be taking him. Clearly, he needs someone better to care for him.”
The Yokai bristles, fur on their arms raising. Before anything can escalate further, Moon hears him call her name. She whips her head around and Mikey’s running toward her, putting his nunchaku away.
“Hey,” she says.
He’s clearly out of breath and he’s frowning when he gets to her, “Everything okay?”
The Yokai flattens the creases of their skirt. “No, nothing’s wrong. I was just leaving, I have to get home in time for the festivities.”
They grab their bag and storm off. Mikey snickers, gaining him an elbow from her. “Sorry, it just seems like something always happens when we bring you down here,” Mikey says, his lips curving into that familiar smile. “What happened?”
“I found this little guy after we got separated,” Moon answers, holding Ide (as the Yokai called him) out a little so Mikey can see him. “We got out of the maze and ran into them. They apparently were trying to use him for something.”
Mikey nods, “Yeah, witches are known for using Wyrm’s energy. Sometimes it’s not that bad though, just taking some hair.”
Ide shifts in her arms a little, but settles quickly. “And the other times?”
Mikey’s eyes get a little wide and he gets a little tense at the sharpness of her tone. “I don’t want to answer because you already seem very attached to him and we’re gonna be taking him home so it doesn’t matter. This is a little intense for you though.”
“I don’t want anything to be some kind of… subject to be used.”
Mikey wraps his arms around Moon. “It’s okay, we’re taking him home. That, and we’re not going to Witch Town for a while.”
Moon scoffs, gaining a laugh from Mikey. “Alright, let’s go rejoin the others so we can go home.”
Mikey lets her go and the two walk shoulder to shoulder back toward the warehouse.
ADOPTED!
