I just read Erick Bradshaw's great Bandcamp article on Caroline True Records (dated November 20, 2025). There was a lot to like, but Henry Badowski's "Life Is A Grand" reissue stood out. Bradshaw's article mentions Gary Numan, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), Simple Minds, Kraftwerk and Syd Barrett. The cover and music also remind me a bit of Nick Nicely.
Henry Badowski (England) was associated with a lot of musicians/bands before releasing "Life Is A Grand" (1981, A&M and I.R.S.): Alternative T.V., The Damned (actually an off-shoot of the band called The Doomed), The Good Missionaries and Wreckless Eric.

Mike Copeland started Illegal Records to help distribute The Police’s music as his brother Stewart was in it. Illegal became I.R.S. Records for the American market which returned distribution through Illegal again in UK and European markets. Whether Illegal created and distributed bootleg French red and gold 7″ copies of The Cramps double feature is up in the air, but they exist. That’s good enough for some Cramps fans.
