As Lane just opened his mouth to speak, something happened: his eyes seemed to change as his expression twisted into an evil smirk. Fili gasped in pain again, finding it even harder to form the energy to stay up the way he was. But Fili knew he had to try to stay awake, and with a few hard blinks, he briefly caught sight of something in Alastorās hand. It was the blade Fili had been using. The last thing Fili saw was the cruel smirk of the man he loved, before he felt another, even stronger twist of pain, and everything went dark. Alastor had claimed another victim.
