but  even  so,  with  the  marriage  having  served  its  purpose,    𝚆𝙷𝚈  𝙳𝙸𝙳  𝚃𝙷𝙴  𝚃𝚂𝙰𝚁  𝙵𝙴𝙴𝙻  𝚂𝙾  𝙷𝙾𝙻𝙻𝙾𝚆?

she  was  right;  this  marriage  did  not  originate  with  love.  nor  did  it  ever  feel  as  if  love  blossomed,  some  place  in  between.  which  begs  the  question:  what  was  this  twist  in  his  chest?  why  was  there  this  feeling,  this  tightening  of  his  throat  coupled  with  the  prickling  sensation  at  the  tip  of  his  tongue,  present.ᐣ

he  drew  in  a  deep,  shaky  breath,  visible  through  condensation  and  the  sudden  drop  in  temperature  within  the  room.  and  for  once,  a  small  part  of  him  could  have  sworn  that  it  was  nice  to  not  be  alone.  it  was  nice  to  have  someone  at  his  side  who  did  not  constitute  as  family.  but  this  was  far  from  romantic  interest,  was  it  not?  one  could  only  hope.

the  words  clawed  out  his  mouth,  regardless  of  how  much  he  wanted  to  force  it  down.     “   don't  go.   „    his  words  even  surprised  him.  what  did  these  string  of  vowels  mean?  he  knew  full  well  what  they  meant—though  his  expression  shifted,  eyes  widening  slightly,  lips  parted  somewhat.  they  were  not  premeditated,  it  was  unlike  how  he  usually  carried  himself—graceful,  each  word  articulated  with  prior  careful  thought.    THIS  𝚆𝙰𝚂  𝙰  𝙵𝙰𝚁  𝙲𝚁𝚈  𝙵𝚁𝙾𝙼  𝚃𝙷𝙰𝚃.

/ the best thing abt Anaxa is that even in areas where you struggle, he is always willing to teach as long as long as you are willing to learn 🥺🫶 he has a hard to understand way of thinking & speaking but he's definitely not cruel ! @hyposelenics ⊹ prompt ⊹ [RUN] Sender and Receiver run a few laps around a track. ( for Pantalone maybe? it sounds so funny to me )

             isolated from the raging storm outside, the training grounds of the palace were insulated expertly enough for comfort. Still, no activity undertaken within its walls, across the artificial fields and rinks, would ever be pleasant to one such as the Regrator.

His coat, in its undeniable class and quality, has been folded and left over a bench. But even without its furs trapping heat inside, sweat has already formed and soaked through the only layer covering his torso and arms, turning the fabric into a miserable cling against his skin. It leeches warmth from him as it cools, counterproductively, until the shirt he wears feels useless against the creeping chill amidst his... exercise.

At some point, enough has to be enough, whether for his health or dignity.

❝ This is absurd. ❞ His voice slips out on a low wheeze, cracking faintly as he braces himself against the wall. In truth, the Regrator's run barely qualifies as a jog in comparison to Columbina's effortless pace around the field. It vexes him as much as it humiliates. Any future recommendation for physical exercise will be met with a refusal comprised of all the violent conviction born from this exact moment, regardless of purpose.

◜　 ♡ ॱ𓏽 the fair is bustling with food and drink stalls, children running with their colourful balloons and fireworks going off in the distance. she waits patiently by the ferris wheel for columbina to be back, swinging her body in the spot as a moon twinkles upon this world, bright and large and so different from the moon seen from earth. it's moments like this that remind nikki how far from home she is, but how beautiful and new each world she steps into can look.

Sleep. 

A  very  rare  thing  for  the  moonchanter. 

Ever  since  she  was  a  child  ,  sleep  was  something  she  had  struggled  to  gain.  Being  able  to  hear  the  animals  chattering  away  at  night  ,  she  found  herself  rather  frustraited  at  how  tired  she  could  be  ,  and  yet  sleep  not  find  her.  Even  now  into  her  adulthood  ,  Lauma  rarely  was  able  to  get  a  full  nights  sleep  ,  if  she  slept  at  all.  Known  to  go  days  without  rest  from  time  to  time  the  moonchanter  was  nearing  complete  burnout  from  over  working  herself  ,  in  hopes  that  perhaps  she  might  be  able  to  get  some  rest.

Columbina's  presence  seemed  to  put  her  at  ease  ,  more  so  than  she  was  used  to  ,  and  when  the  moonchanter's  movements  have  become  heavy  ,  and  more  work  than  even  she  could  handle  ,  that's  when  Lauma  called  it  quits  ,  returning  to  her  chambers. 

❝  you  don't  have  to  ❞ a  light  blush  ,  ❝  I  apologise  for  not  being  a  better  host  ❞ ,  spoken  through  a  yawn  as  her  head  finally  hit  the  pillow.  She  wasn't  all  that  bothered  about  being  covered  up  ,  but  she  did  like  to  cling  to  her  blanket  ,  bringing  the  softness  close  to  her  chest  ,  fists  held  handfuls  of  fabric.  Grounding  ,  when  everything  else  felt  uncertain. 

IF  there is one thing Sunday has learned throughout his travels, it's that the moon looks different on every planet.

In Penacony's Moments, there is almost no such thing. The sun always seems to shine brighter, after all. Midnight brings nothing but darkness, a simple passageway between all the dreamscapes. In Golden Hour, the moon was considered the Grand Theater itself. In Dreamflux Reef...

Feathers ruffle against his cheeks, shaking him from his reverie. Ironic, how through all his efforts to stay grounded in reality, he still frequently finds his head lost among the clouds. It's been a substantial amount of time since Sunday escaped Penacony, and yet its effects still linger. He sighs, gently pushing himself off the rail of the balcony he was leaning on before sipping on his drink. No alcohol, of course. He finds that being intoxicated does him no good — as his friends say, he is a  ' depressed drunk '.

And in this brief moment to himself, in a peaceful stop the Express chose for respite, he cannot afford to dwell in any more sorrows.

He glances again at the view of the moon gleaming from the balcony. Or the moons, rather. This planet has two, one a shimmering pale blue and the other a soft gold, orbiting in sync, an eternal eclipse. The blue moon is much smaller than the gold, and the more Sunday looks at them, the more familiar he finds the sight.

" ...Huh, "  he notes in amusement, taking another sip and finally tearing his eyes away from them, that eerie reflection of his own irises.

Here he finds a woman similarly alone, the only other person willing to be out in the balcony of this quiet bar in this freezing eve. Her posture, her clothing and her demeanour all give off an air of elegance. But Sunday finds himself drawn to the wings nestled in her hair. A Halovian, or mere decoration?

... He'll call it liquid courage, but with the lack of alcohol in his system, none of his friends would believe him.

" Cold night, isn't it? "  He starts, raising his glass in an attempt to start conversation. Having lived his whole life conversing under a diplomatic pretense, Sunday can be embarrassingly inept at casual talk. Or he thinks so, at least.  " I believe it's because of the waves. They're particularly strong here, given there are two moons to pull them back and forth. "

While some might think unusual to not be glued at Lumine's side, its actually very normal, even before the traveling duo first stepped in Nod-Krai. So for the anomalous pixie to come wandering in by herself, within Silvermoon Hall, should be to no surprise.

This aside... people should really stop trying to be all sneaky.

One of these days somebody will get stabbed (by accident mind you) because of how much more alert Paimon is, yes even in a place like the Hall.

Still, in no way does she reprimand Columbina, that is not the reason for visiting.
